Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 20, 2018, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 201 W. Miller Rd., Lansing. His family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Burial will take place in Mount Ararat Cemetery in New York. Memorial contributions may be made to Michigan State University, or in the greater Mid-Michigan arts community.
Celebration of Life and potluck will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Red Tail Pavilion at Hawk Island County Park, 1601 E. Cavanaugh in Lansing, starting at 5 p.m., with services and remembrances at 6 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Ingham County Animal Shelter.
There will be no service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw, on Saturday, August 25, 2018, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. At 3:00 p.m. the family hopes you will join them in a celebration and remembrance of Matt’s life, and will welcome anyone to speak and share memories. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Mt. Hope Church, 202 S. Creyts Rd., Lansing, with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
