Rev. Francis F. Anderson

Born November 3, 1926, in Grand Rapids, MI, passed away October 18, 2018, at age 91.

Francis Anderson was a retired United Methodist minister and a member of the United Methodist Conference. He and his wife served as missionaries in the Caribbean for 15 years. He was a member of the Lansing Torch Club, Kiwanis Club of Delta Township and Holt, and a volunteer with many organizations over the years. Frank was a graduate of the U of M engineering school where he was on the swim team. He worked as a mechanical engineer in Detroit for nine years prior to graduating from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary. He was an avid reader, a lifelong learner, nature and music lover, and traveler. Frank will be deeply missed and always loved.

He is survived by his loving wife Winona, whom he married October 22, 1948 in Ann Arbor, MI; children, Cynthia A. (Barry L.) Bingham, Kristin (Terry) Davidson, and Frederick Anderson; granddaughter, Sara (Joseph) Davidson-LeFevre; one great-granddaughter, Lena Sue LeFevre; twin great-grandsons, Clark Henry and Logan Gregory LeFevre; nine nieces and nephews; and other extended family members. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Agnes Anderson; stepmother, Corinne Steele; brothers, Ralph, Emmett, and Lee Anderson; and sister, Laura Morgan.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Central United Methodist Church, 215 N. Capitol Ave., Lansing. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Central United Methodist Church, UMCOR, or Capital Area United Way.
