Obituaries

There will be no funeral service. For those desiring memorial contributions may be made to a food bank of the donor’s choice, Capital Area Humane Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Memorial service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Holt United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Perry’s memory may do so through contributions to: “Perry M. and Uyvonne Johnson Endowed Scholarship in Criminal Justice and Ethics” endowed scholarship in Criminal Justice at MSU; Holt United Methodist Church; or The Southern Poverty Law Center.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2022, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, with interment in Oak Plain Cemetery in Shaftsburg.  Her family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday, where a Trisagion service will take place at 10:30 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2023, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with interment to follow in East Lawn Memory Gardens. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2023.

Funeral service: 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Visitation: 12:00-4:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2023, and also one hour prior to the funeral at Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Service details will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Lansing.

There will be no service. Interment took place in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Holt.

Funeral service: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lansing. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel First Lutheran Church & School.

ThefFuneral service will be held at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 12:00 p.m.  The funeral will be livestreamed. The family will greet visitors at the funeral home for 1 hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Leek Cemetery.

Age 80, passed away December 8, 2022.  He was born May 24, 1942, in Anderson, Indiana, to Russell and Catherine Hershberger.  Richard retired from the State of Michigan.  He will be buried next to his wife, in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan.

Visitation will be from 12-3 and 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. If anyone wishes to share memories of Michele, they may do so from 2:30-3:00 p.m. (during the first visitation). Memorial donations may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society or Susan G. Komen (Breast Cancer Foundation).

Funeral service: 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Holt Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Stockbridge. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Lansing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Savior Lutheran School or a charity of the donor’s choice.

There will be no service.

Age 95, of East Lansing, MI, passed away December 7, 2022. Arrangements are incomplete at this time.

His family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel beginning at 4:00 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2022, and ending with eulogies and sharing by family and friends at 7:00 p.m.  

Memorial service: 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2022, at at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel. The family encourages donations to the Capital Area Humane Society in Laura’s name in lieu of flowers.

Inurnment will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023, in St. Joseph Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ingham County Animal Shelter.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022, at St. Martha Parish, Okemos. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at St. Martha Parish. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Martha Parish, Capital Area Humane Society, The Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, or a veteran’s organization of the donor’s choice.
