A private family service will be held.

Funeral service: 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 21, 2023, at St. Mary Cathedral, with visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the cathedral. Interment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Sparrow Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Potter Park Zoo.

A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Sycamore Creek Potterville Campus.  The Family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at noon until the time of service.

Celebration of life: 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Mason Holt Eagles, Mason. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of Lansing.

A celebration of life will be held at McWilliams Funeral Home (formerly Wachterhauser) in Alpena, Michigan, on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., with luncheon to follow. Friends and family may begin to gather at 12:00 p.m. Memorials can be made to Gift of Life of Michigan.

Funeral service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memory Gardens in Okemos. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12-2 and 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.

Memorial service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Holt United Methodist Church, Holt. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to: “Perry M. and Uyvonne Johnson Endowed Scholarship in Criminal Justice and Ethics” endowed scholarship in Criminal Justice at MSU; Holt United Methodist Church; or Heifer International.

There will be a private graveside service for family only at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sparrow Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.

Visitation will take place on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. at Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel at 325 W. Washtenaw St. in Lansing, MI. There will be a second visitation on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 10-11 a.m. immediately preceding an 11:00 a.m. Catholic Funeral Mass, with luncheon to follow at St. Michael Catholic Church at 324 Edwards St. in Grand Ledge, MI. The family requests that no dress clothes be worn. Instead they request that attendees wear Harry Potter Shirts, Dinosaur Shirts, Avatar the Last Airbender Shirts, Pokémon Shirts, MSU shirts, Roblox shirts, or if you have none of those Hogwarts House Colors. . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jim’s name to The Reading People in Lansing, MI, Ele’s Place, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital PICU, The Gift of Life Michigan, or Impression 5 Science Center.

A Memorial service and reception will be held Friday, August 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Byron Center United Methodist Church. Following a private internment, the family will host a reception at 3:00 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church, Lansing, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to A. Raymond Kalliel Foundation for Hospice.

Mass of the Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Fowlerville. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fowlerville.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Holt Christian Church.

Visitation will be at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2023. A graveside service will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capitol Area Humane Society.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Private interment will take place on Monday, July 24, 2023, in Gunnisonville Cemetery in DeWitt. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to an animal shelter near you or adopting a pet in need of a home.

Age 61, passed away July 20, 2023.  He was born April 12, 1962, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to William and Loretta Herberth. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

His family will receive visitors at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel on Friday, July 28, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and again on Saturday, at the church, for 30 minutes prior to the Mass. Funeral Mass will will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at St. Andrew Dung-Lac Catholic Church.
