Steve E. Walker
Steven Earl Walker, age 57, of Keller, Texas, passed away on October 25, 2023.
Steve was born on September 26, 1966, to James and Marlene Walker. From a young age Steve would watch airplanes take off and land near his childhood home. That experience led to Steve’s desire to become a pilot. After graduating from Lansing Eastern High School in 1985, Steve went on to pursue a career as a pilot. He became a flight instructor and worked at cargo carriers like Kitty Hawk. Soon after, Steve began his 24-year career with Southwest Airlines. Steve acquired over 30,000 flight hours over his flight career.
Steve and his wife, April, shared a love for Jesus, Lake Michigan, traveling in his Lancair, working out, and remodeling houses. Steve had an infectious smile and never met a stranger. He was kind and generous to everyone he met and immediately thought everyone was “such a good person.”
He was predeceased by his father, James Albert Walker, and brother Jason James Walker.
He is survived by his loving wife, April Marie Walker; 2 children, Ethan and Kaitlin; stepsons, Hayden and Cache; mother, Marlene Walker; brother, Brian (Jill); 2 nieces, Hannah (Brandon) and Faith; 2 nephews, Daniel and Brandon (Vicki); and many more who loved him dearly.
There will be a memorial service held 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 5, 2023, at the Life Christian Church, 2560 Eaton Rapids Rd., Lansing, MI 48911. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
