William E. “Bill" Appleton

William Ellsworth “Bill” Appleton, born May 2, 1932, passed away peacefully, listening to the laughter of his family, on Monday, April 16, 2012. He was currently of East Lansing, MI.

He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Virginia and Richard Pifer, brother-in-law Harold Altstaetter, and son-in-law Jeffery Odle. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gloria Appleton (Cole); son, Jeffrey (Barbara) Appleton of Metamora, MI; daughters, Rebecca Odle (Richard Solomon) of East Lansing and Jennifer (Michael) Mitchner of Webberville, MI; sister, Margaret Altstaetter of Green Valley, AZ; grandchildren, Courtney Appleton (Christopher Bifulco), Ashley Appleton, Samantha (Travis) Muti, Lindsey Odle (Tim Sorenson), Eric (Lorissa) Odle, Brian Odle, Anthony Mitchner, Lauren (Trhile) Brown, Rachel Mitchner, Anna Solomon; and 12, soon to be 14, great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Bill’s life will take place Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 3-7 p.m. at Guerrazzi’s Restaurant, 15643 N. East St (Old US-27), Lansing, MI 48906. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice in Bill’s name. Arrangements by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
