William “Bill” Deromedi

Bill DeromediOn February 11, 2023, William “Bill” Deromedi entered into the blessed rest of heaven. He was 93 years of age.

Bill was born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 22, 1929.  Following high school, he enlisted in the Air Force and served from 1947 through 1950.  After returning from the service, Bill married the love of his life, Irmi Trolinger, who proceeded him in death. They were married on August 5, 1950, and shared 67 years of marriage together. Shortly after their wedding, they moved to Lansing, where Bill worked as a Master Electrician for Oldsmobile, retiring after 34 years.  Bill and Irmi raised three daughters, Karen, Kathy, and Kim. His kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit was a constant reminder of his love of family and a witness to his enduring Christian faith.  He will be dearly missed.

Bill will be lovingly remembered by his children, Karen Kalmbach (Steve), Kathy Starkweather (Dave), and Kim Ford. Bill’s memory will also live on in his grandchildren, Steven Kalmbach (Nicole), Kim Kenimer (John), Jennifer Ford, William Starkweather (Julie), and Benjamin Ford (Courtney), as well as his great-grandchildren Ryan Starkweather, Mason Kenimer, Olive Kenimer, Hazel Kenimer, James Kenimer, Asher Ford and Elsie Ford.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, with the Reverend Paul Lindloff presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Bill’s memory to Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church and School. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Dear Kathy and to your sisters and all your family… I was saddened to learn of your Fathers’s passing today. May our Father in heaven guard your hearts and give you peace and comfort. As Pastor Will teaches us we are resurrection people. The initial grief felt fades but the memories of a life well lived live forever. We have the blessed assurance that you all will be reunited with him, so keep the faith and rest in Him. In Christian love to you and your precious family…
