Wendell C. Bannister
Age 86, of Inverness, FL, formerly of Lansing, MI, passed away September 22, 2015. He was born March 1, 1929, in Normal, IL, to William and Aurelle Bannister.
Wendell was a longtime grounds supervisor at MSU. He loved nature, plants and trees, and enjoyed living in California. He came from a family of educators and was a good and honest man. His motto was live and let live while living one day at a time.
He is survived by his children, Wendy (Alexander) Charehjoo of Florida, Lorie Dyer of Ecuador and Aaron Bannister of Michigan; grandson, Brian Arnston; and his longtime sweetheart, Ruth “Mickey” Bull. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife of 41 years, Annette; siblings, Duke and Marjorie; and grandchildren, Charnelle Arnston and Natasha Van Nortwick.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel. Interment will follow in Maple Ridge Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
