Ward J. Stillson

Age 90 passed away May 8, 2011. He was born on August 27, 1920, in Constantine Twp., Michigan, to Floyd and Chloe (Blanchard) Stillson.  He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army 1940-1945, primarily in Australia.  He graduated from the University of  Michigan in 1949  with a degree in Engineering.  Ward retired from FMC Corp. (John Bean) in 1983 after 30 years of service.

Surviving  are his wife of  67 years Elizabeth E. (Betty Schoals); two sons, Ward “Jim” (Nancy) Stillson of Holt, and David B. (Carol) Stillson of Potterville; two grandsons, Kelly (Erica) Stillson and  Travis Stillson; one sister, Marjorie  Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Elda Hontz; four brothers, Donald Stillson, Robert Stillson, Leslie Stillson, and Glen Stillson.

There will be a graveside service held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.  Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.
