Walter Lawrence Beeman

Born October 7, 1928, in Traverse City, Michigan, son of the late Walter R. and Olive (Arnold) Beeman passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at age 88.
Following Walter’s retirement from General Motors he moved to Duck Lake and enjoyed many years there. He was an avid fisherman and the former owner of Beeman’s Green Gardens in Grawn.
Surviving are his three children, Cathleen (Dale “Bob”) Bodell, Karla (Richard) Handziak, and Shari (Scott) Gillette; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald Beeman; sisters, Nancy McRoberts and Maxine Olson; along with many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Ann Beeman; son, Gregory L. Beeman; infant son, Allan Beeman; brothers, Edward and Bert Beeman, and sisters, Ada Pierce and Joanne Beeman.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Grawn, Michigan, (Blair Township) on Friday at 2:00 p.m. Those who wish may make memorial contributions, in Walter’s memory, to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
