Victoria J. “Vici” Farrell

Age 76, of Laingsburg, MI, died on June 11, 2021, after a short battle with cancer. She was born in the Bronx, New York. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Stefania Gurzenda; her brother, Walter J. Gurzenda; and sister-in-law, Diane Gurzenda.

She is survived by her children, Stefan (Tamara) Farrell of St. Johns, Kimberly (Randy) Farlin of East Lansing, and Cinnamon Eastman of Merrill; sister-in-law, Bonnie Gurzenda of Dansville; nieces, Jennifer (Todd) Beals of Midland, Kathleen (Mike) Schultz of Clinton Township, and Wendy Rios of Lansing; survived by 8 grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon, Devan, and Eric Farrell; Chris Teremi; Doug Eastman; Ava and Ella Farlin; and 6 great-grandchildren.

The family thanks Burcham Hills for the care she received and Fr. Kusitino Cobona for the Administration of Last Rites. They both brought peace to her final days.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Mom loved to share the bounty from her gardens. In lieu of sending flowers, consider planting something in her memory in your own garden and think of her when it blooms. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She was the easiest person I ever met to get along with.
I cannot remember her even raising her voice at any time

Kim my heart and prayers go out to you and your family. So very sorry for the loss of your Mother.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
~Amen~

It’s been a number of years since Vici and I got together, but the last time was at another co-worker’s funeral. Vici, Doug Ehlers, and I talked about our days at Ford Credit and all the friends we made, and about the number of good friends, we had lost. As always, we laughed, giggled, and kept reminding each other very quietly of all the goofy stuff we did with this person or that one. Now it’s Vici’s turn to be still and it breaks my heart, First, you cry over the loss of an old friend, but then you start remembering the fun things you did, the crazy things, the dumb things. But we always had fun. I will always remember Vici with fondness and I wish her well. I hope we don’t see each other for a very long time, but I know no matter how long it takes me to get to heaven, I know Vic will be waiting at the gates of heaven and she will say: “What took you so long? I’ve got to tell you who I ran into!”To Stefan, Cinnamon, and Kimberly you had quite the Mom. I don’t know if you even remember me. You kids, your Mom, and I would all pile into her car and make a mad dash to McDonald’s or to the Dairy Queen and hurry back before your Dad Rick got home. We’d just laugh when we told him leftovers. Well, Vici, I am sorry to hear of the illness you had to endure before making it to heaven, but peace and love surround you now like never before. Save me a good seat and I will see you when I see you. Much love to the entire family. Love you all,

Melody (Terrill) Atwood
