Verna L. Allen

Age 96, of Lansing, MI, passed away June 16, 2013. She was born February 4, 1917, in Lansing, MI, daughter of Walter and Augusta Andrews. Verna was a member of Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children, Walter (Judy) Allen and Robert Allen; grandchildren, Michael, Leslie, Natalie and Jordan; great-grandchildren, Elly, Anna and Avery; brother, Wayne Andrews; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; sisters, Vivian, Marcella and Dorothy; and brothers, Robert and Rex.

A prayer service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. A memorial visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
