Velma R. Jackson
Age 88, of Lansing, MI, passed away August 12, 2013. She was born July 4, 1925, in Evansville, IN, daughter of the late William and Selma Florer.
She is survived by her former husband, Melvin Jackson; children, Melvin (Dana) Jackson, Karen (Mike) Delamater, Charlene (Thomas) Brady, and Joyce Sherwood; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2013, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel with Pastor Frances Dunn-Simon of Faith Tabernacle Church officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Dimondale. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
