Travis A. Boven
Travis Allen Boven, of Lansing, Michigan, went to be with our Lord July 13, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer and the after-effects of the cancer treatment. Travis was born July 14, 1988, in Lansing, Michigan. Prior to becoming ill, Travis was very active and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He attended church youth group and had a strong faith in God. He was a Boy Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow. Travis enjoyed aggressive skating, skateboarding, BMX biking, and Taekwondo. Travis was a huge fan of the MSU Spartans and Mountain Dew.
Travis is survived by his parents, Craig and Jean Boven, sister Lauren Boven (Will Carthen), nephew Miles, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Theodore and Patricia Schaafsma and Donald and Mary Jo Battisfore, also his Uncle Tom Boven.
The family wishes to thank family and friends for their kindness, love and support of Travis and the family. Also, gratitude to the many medical professionals who cared for Travis over the years and the staff and students at Waverly Community Schools who supported Travis through his cancer treatment.

July 15, 2024 at 2:29 pmThere are so many things that I encounter day to day that make absolutely no sense to me. I don’t know why such a difficult battle was ordained for you, but you endured it with a level of strength that has encouraged and motivated me forever. I love you Travis, rest up big dog. Go Green, Go White (until they play my Wolverines!).

July 21, 2024 at 7:18 amJean and Craig, I continue to be in awe of the dedication and care you provided to Travis. I always felt a connection to you Jean as Travis and my daughter were born the same day in the same hospital. I now live in Florida, but you were one if my favorite patients and I always enjoyed our visits. I hope you both have a great retirement with fond memories of Travis to hold tight.God Bless

August 9, 2024 at 7:56 amThere are no words that suffice. Travis was your beautiful boy. He was a delight to all that had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a smart, spunky, determined young man. He was brave, funny and faith filled throughout his illness. I know your heart aches for what was lost and still rejoices for his new life in heaven. You were, and are, amazing parents. Your exceptional care for Travis was the definition of love. Praying for peace of heart and mind and many blessings as you grow forward. So Much Love to you and Lauren as well.
