Tracey Olson Suarez, age 51, passed away on June 18, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. She was born April 30, 1966, in Lansing. She was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, sister, and friend.

She spent over 20 years as a medical assistant. Working with developmentally disabled people was one of her many passions. Tracey was always concerned that everyone else had what they needed and was doing okay. She was generous, funny, and kind. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her compassion, and her love of animals.

Tracey is survived by her husband, Luis Alberto Suarez and her two sons, Joseph Daniel Suarez and Alexander Lee Suarez.  She and Luis would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in July. Tracey is also survived by her best friend and brother, Daniel Olson, her father, Jerry Olson and her beloved nephews, Erik and Andrew Olson. She leaves behind her aunt, Marianne Olson, her Lamphere cousins, and many dear friends and extended family members.

Tracey was predeceased by her infant daughter, Kristina Marie Suarez, her mother, Margaret Olson, and her sister, Angela Olson.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. In lieu of flowers, Tracey requested that you remember her by helping someone in need or volunteering your time. She was a big advocate of “paying it forward” and wanted to spread that kindness and generosity to others.
