Thomas Mark Pentoney
Age 74, of Lansing, MI, passed away January 22, 2022, in Okemos. He was born September 7, 1947, in Detroit to the late James and Dorene (Wood) Pentoney. He attended Michigan State University where he fueled his love of learning and ended up making Lansing his home.
Tom worked for 37 years as a custodian, and head custodian, for the Lansing School District. Following his retirement, he was a talented bus driver for CATA. Tom married Carol (Wild) and they spent 40 years of life together. In his free time Tom was an avid reader, loved music, motorcycles, canoeing with friends, traveling out West, and being with family. He and Carol loved their many dogs, and they were an important part of their lives.
Tom is survived by Carol’s 4 children, Christine (Neil) Melancon, James (Sharon) Marshall, Catherine Ireland, and William (Paula) Anderson; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 siblings, Brace (Maxine) Pentoney, James (Caryl) Pentoney, Diane Webb, Bonnie (Tom) Hillmann, and Ward Pentoney; 1 brother-in-law, Dr. David (Shari) Wild; and 1 sister-in-law, Barbara (Nelson) Simkins, as well as nieces nephews and extended family.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Carol I. (Wild) Pentoney; a grandson, Daniel Anderson; a sister, Ruth Pentoney; a sister-in-law, Carol Pentoney; and a brother-in-law, James Webb.
A memorial service will be held at Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022; the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, the family requests that all in attendance are vaccinated. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society.

I am sorry to hear of his passing and wish his family God’s guidance as they go through the difficult times ahead. May God give you strength and peace.
