Thomas M. Lohr

LANSING – Thomas M. Lohr, age 80, passed away unexpectedly at his home, on July 19, 2026.  He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  The son of Lester and Ruth (Baur) Lohr, he was born on April 20, 1946, in Bay City, Michigan.  Tom attended Visitation de la Notre Dame High School, in Bay City, and graduated Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan, as a Bachelor of Business Administration in Sales and Business Marketing.

Tom enjoyed a lengthy career selling and marketing wholesale petroleum products to the agricultural sector throughout the Midwest.  He retired in 2008.  Tom was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, an avid reader and enjoyed travel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Kerry Lohr, and brother Kenneth Lohr.  Surviving are his wife, Susan Esch-Lohr, his son, Brian Lohr (Patrick Finn), stepson Matthew Sherman, daughter-in-law Windy Lohr, sister, Barbara Lohr (Al VanTol), grandsons Andrew and Alex Lohr, granddaughter Alsatia Shetty (Prateek) as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow Highway, Lansing, with The Most Reverend Monsignor Bernard Reilly presiding.  The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m.   Interment will occur at Delta Hillside Cemetery following the liturgy, with a luncheon in the Parish Hall following interment.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in remembrance of Tom to the charity of your choice.
