Thomas James O’Hearn

Age 88, of Lansing, MI, passed away on July 2, 2015.  He was born in Scottville, MI, on April 19, 1927, to John Thomas and Beatrice Kathryn (Carter) O’Hearn.

He was a decorated Veteran of W.W. II, serving in the U.S. Navy.  While residing in Scottville he owned and operated O’Hearn Music Co.

Surviving are his children, Patricia O’Hearn of East Lansing, Steven O’Hearn (Judy) of Colorado Springs, CO, Judy Goerbig of Ludington, Susan O’Hearn-Tartre (Robert)  of Denver, CO; 4 grandchildren, Christopher Chisholm, Staci Benson, Samantha Mackenzie Tartre, and Reilly Erin Tartre; 3 great-grandchildren, Jacob Chisholm, Addison Marie Chisholm and Jami Benson; brother, Robert O’Hearn; and nephews and a niece.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Lizella Jean O’Hearn in 2000.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at St. Mary Cathedral, 219 Seymour, Lansing, with The Rev. Msgr. George C. Michalek as Celebrant.  The family will greet friends at the Cathedral 1 hour prior to the Mass.  Interment will take place at the Pere Marquette Cemetery, Ludington, MI.   Memorial contributions may be made to the Diocese of Lansing – Seminarian Education; 228 N. Walnut St., Lansing, MI 48933.  Arrangements by Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
