Thomas J. Pavlik

Holt, MI

Born on November 19, 1934, in Clay Center, Ohio, and after 83 fabulous years Tom heard his Lord call and went to Him on March 3, 2018.  Tom died peacefully surrounded by the love of his family after he lost his battle with Alzheimer’s.

After leaving the Marine Corps Tom met and married his future wife, Rosemary, in Rossford, Ohio, and later moved to Holt, Michigan.  They spent 60 wonderful adventurous years together traveling in and out of the country along with backpacking, camping, whitewater rafting and birding.  Always a volunteer he was a Boy Scout Master in Genoa, Ohio, for two years.  Upon arriving in Michigan he joined the scouts again and spent a total of 50 years as Scout Master and volunteer wherever needed culminating in receiving the Silver Beaver Award.  He was proudest when his three boys received their Eagle Scout Award.  Tom also spent 20 years volunteering at the Greater Lansing Food Bank for which he received the Volunteer of the Year Award.  He retired from Michigan Millers Insurance Company as head of the Special Investigative Unit after 25 years.

Tom is survived by his wife, Rosemary; three sons, David (Christine) Pavlik, Jeffrey Pavlik and Thomas Pavlik; and grandchildren, David Pavlik, Michael Pavlik and Anna Pavlik.

If one wishes, donations may be made to the Greater Lansing Food Bank.  The family is being served by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.  In lieu of formal services, a private gathering will be held at a later date in honor of Tom’s memory.

I had the privilege of working with Tom at the Greater Lansing Food Bank. I looked forward to seeing Tom’s smiling face on Monday’s at the warehouse. He made me smile and gave me such wonderful hugs. He gave so much to the community through his service at the food bank.

I worked with Tom at Michigan Millers. He was such a great guy and talked with so much love of his family and all the trips he and Rosemary took. I worked in the Holt office with him and we had some good chats. Always a great smile and my sympathies to Rosemary and family. I am sure he will be missed very much. Thinking of you all and will be keeping you in thought and prayers. Linda Schlappi

Rosemary,

I just found out that your husband Tom recently passed away. Jackie and I want to express our most sincere condolences to you and your family at this difficult time. I always enjoyed chatting with Tom when he would come by our office at MSU to see you. He was truly a wonderful person and I know that he will be missed by you and your family.

With deepest sympathy,
