Thomas Allen Kephart
Age 89, passed away November 24, 2023. Tom was born in Mason City, Iowa, on July 21, 1934, to Glen and Evelyn (Crepow) Kephart. After graduating from Mason City High School in 1952, Tom completed a Radiology Technician Program at the University of Iowa Medical Center. He worked as an X-ray technician at the University of Iowa and at hospitals in Illinois and Indiana. He then began working as a wholesale clothing salesman and traveled several states in the mid-west. He ended his career as a key account salesman with Carhartt.
Tom was a 50 plus year member of the Anchor Lodge 980 and Scottish Rite Valey of Dansville, IL.
Tom is survived by his wife, Sue; daughters, Stacey Berry (Steve Copp) and Kelly Robertson (Terry), two stepdaughters; Kate Somera (Don) and Polly Markham. Also, three grandsons, Ryan Kephart, Brett Kephart and Thomas Burgess; two step-grandsons, two step-granddaughters, and two great-grandchildren survive. He is also survived by a nephew and a niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Glen, and his sister, Ardeen.
Although Tom was burdened with serious health issues for the last several years, he continued to have a zest for living, was courageous every day, and was always optimistic.
A visitation for friends and family will take place at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, 2121 Cedar Street, Holt, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A short service will follow. Cremation has taken place. The interment of ashes will take place later at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City, IA.
