Thomas A. Steadman-Jersey
Age 65, of Holt, MI, passed away March 16, 2017. He was born March 25, 1951, in Lansing, MI, to Louis and Susan Steadman.
Tom graduated from Waverly High School and attended the University of Michigan. He was a former member of Temple Beth El in Lansing, which is now Congregation Shaarey Zedek. He retired as a journeyman electrician from GM and was a former girls’ I.M. soccer coach in Mason. He was an avid reader, a movie-trivia aficionado, and enjoyed traveling, especially to Pentwater and to Lake Michigan.
He is survived by his children, Heather (Lynn) Patton and Joshua (Gwenneth) Stellanger; grandchildren, Madison (Joey McNeilly, Jr.) Patton, Rachel Patton, Kelsie Patton, Merrik Stellanger, Crichton Stellanger, and Sylvia Stellanger; great-granddaughter, Arya McNeilly; his mother, Susan Steadman; siblings, Lisa (Bob) Nalett, Jim (Kyle) Steadman, Mark (Gael) Steadman, and Karen Steadman-Chan; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margo Steadman-Jersey; father, Louis Steadman; granddaughter, Lily Stellanger; and sister-in-law, MaryAnn Fillis.
His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Fresenius Kidney Care of Lansing and Sparrow Hospice for their care and compassion, and to Shelly, his Sparrow Home Health Care nurse, for her exceptional care.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2017, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel. There will be no formal funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to Gift of Life, the National Kidney Foundation, or to Sparrow Home Hospice.
