Thelma Irene (Parks) Hicks

Age 90 passed away January 8, 2024. She was born June 30, 1933, in Dewitt, MI, to Floyd R and Mary Parks.

Thelma was a nurturing caretaker, and enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids, and caring for the elderly. She loved going on road trips, liked bird watching, enjoyed playing bingo and doing crossword puzzles. She also spent a lot of time keeping up with family on social media. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her 9 children, Brent (Debbie) Hicks, Brenda Parish, Leon (Judy) Hicks, Mary (Robert) Aguirre, Karen (Kent) Rawlinson, Debbie Hicks, Sharon Hicks, David (Kathryn) Hicks, and Dan (Raquel) Hicks, step daughter Brenda Leonard, at least 28 grandchildren; at least 37 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 6 sisters, life partner Richard Leonard, stepson Darrell Leonard, and son Brian Hicks.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, 2121 N. Cedar St., Holt. Interment will follow in Markham Cemetery in Holt. Her family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, January 14^th at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
