February 26, 2025 at 10:39 amTerry was a coworker and was in the cubicle next to me for many years. We could always count on Terry for sage advice about work related or personal issues. And his wry sense of humor!
My condolences to family and friends.

February 26, 2025 at 12:24 pmMy thoughts and prayers for the Hiske family for the passing of Terry. Not only was Terry a coworker, but a great friend with who I enjoyed many days fishing for trout and walleye sharing a beer and a good laugh. Terry was a wonderful man and husband who will be missed by all who knew him!

February 26, 2025 at 11:38 pmI don’t know exactly what to say Myra. I know on Thursday when I put my hands on his shoulder and said “Terry, you take care now” that I would never see him again.
I know at treatments for the last year that I would always ask, Terry, why don’t you watch some TV?and he would just look at me & twiddle his fingers in response. He was so scared for so long, I just feel so bad.
Myra, you take care now. I miss you two already.
You know how to get ahold of me if you ever need anying. I am here for you and am praying for you.

February 27, 2025 at 7:34 amI worked with Terry for many years and considered him a great co-worker and friend. He was a “good dude” which is high praise. He had a calm, level-headed approach to work and life. I will miss sharing fishing stories with him. Wishes of peace to his family.

February 27, 2025 at 10:51 pmWorking a full day’s drive away from Terry, we didn’t have that many opportunities to interact a lot. But I always felt close to him, somehow. He just had that way of making you feel connected. I am so sorry for your loss.

February 28, 2025 at 3:03 pmI worked with Terry for 20+ years. Not in the same office, but same State of Michigan Departments and Divisions. I always enjoyed his stories and dedication. He was a great guy. I am grateful I was able to reconnect with him the past few months. And Myra, thank you for responding to my text to Terry a couple of days after he passed. I know that was not easy. Please know that in time the great times and memories will help minimize the loss, but you, and your family, and all of us who knew Terry will never forget him. We are all praying and thinking of you and all of your family.

March 12, 2025 at 9:33 amI am so sorry to hear about Terry, our Deepest condolences Myra to you and the family.
I remember Terry when we were younger while visiting Uncle Harold and Aunt Rose on the farm back in the 1960’s. I am seven years older than Terry.
I loved going to the farm in the late 1950’s and 1960’s. When we watched Uncle Harold milk the cows by hand, he would shoot milk at us.
I am doing some research on the Hiske family and found his obituary.
My name is Dale Hiske, my father was Elmer Hiske (deceased). My grandparents and Terry’s great-grandparent were Christian (Christ) Hiske and Rose (Brick) Hiske.
Please extend our LOVE to the family and let Pat know we are thinking of her.

March 12, 2025 at 11:04 amThe first day I met Terry, I was interviewing for a position with the DEQ’s Jackson District. His sense of humor and approachable demeaner made me feel at ease. Later, once I was awarded the position and started working for the DEQ, Terry was one of the staff that helped me to learn the job, sharing with me his work experiences and again, that incredible sense of humor. Terry always managed to find humor in everything and never stressed too much. He thought constantly of others and always volunteered to help, you never had to ask him. There are few people in this world like Terry Hiske. He will be missed!
