Shirley J. Schrader
Age 89, of Lansing, MI, passed away June 26, 2017. She was born December 2, 1927, in Lansing, to the late Frank and Beatrice Zimmerman.
Shirley was a life member of Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church. She loved her dog, Prince, who gave much joy to her life.
She is survived by her children, Carol (Allen) Boak, Pat (Terry) Hughson, Edward (Ellie) Schrader, and Laurie Schrader; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Monica (Tom) Hoiles; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ewald Schrader.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 N. Capitol Ave., Lansing, with the Rev. Paul J. Lindloff officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Her family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or the Greater Lansing Food Bank. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Sorry I was unable to attend Shirley’s services but I was recovering from eye surgery. Hello to all the Schraders from Sue and Mike.

March 23, 2023 at 4:04 pmI am David Kadlabitsky, from Las Vegas, NV. I am formerly of Lansing, MI. I happened to come across Mrs. Schraeder’s announcement. I went to school with her daughter Laurie. We were friends and I recall when I used to come over to their house. I recall Carol, Pat, and Ed. Very nice family and recall Mr. Schraeder as well. God bless the Schraeder family.
