Mike,
I want to express my deepest sympathy to and your family as you mourn Shawna’s transition from this realm to the eternal. May God strengthen you and fill you with comfort and peace. Though my meeting and knowing Shawna was brief, she was kind, jovial and gracious to Johnny and myself. We will continue to remember you all daily in our prayers.

Mike, James, and Zach,
I am so so sorry for your loss. Shawna was one of my hero’s. Her love and pride in her family was fierce. I love how much she loved y’all. Her fight with cancer years back was unbelievable, she was short and 10 foot tall at the same time and fought hard. Walking the cancer walk with all of you was SUCH an honor! I have so many good memories of time spent together and laughing until we couldn’t anymore. Shawna brightened up anywhere that she was, I imagine there’s a big party going on up there with her. May God bless you all with peace, and good memories.

Mike, James and Zack:

I am so sorry that I can’t be there today. I just simply could not get out of work.

Oh my gosh, Shawna was such a riot when we lived next to each other. I will never forget the message she always had on your answering machine: “Howdy, you done reached Smitty’s place. We can’t come to the phone right now, so if you’ll just leave your message on this here contraption, we’ll get back to you as soon as we’re done cleaning our guns.” I would call the house when I knew you weren’t home and just listen to that message over and over again and just laugh and laugh!!

Then, there was the time when we went to the bar when Mike was out of town and a fight broke out and Shawna jumped on my back telling me to save her!!

How about the time when Mike was gone out of town and I had a party at my house, but Laura Lee blamed Shawna for having a party!! Shawna took the heat for me because apparently Laura Lee thought I was an “angel” (little did she know!!).
