Sharyn was one of the best parents that I worked with in my teaching career. The Rahl children were blessed with two very supportive and strong individuals that set expectations and provided a hand when necessary.
This legacy will be carried on by their children.

My deepest condolences to Sharyn’s family. I had the pleasure of working with Sharyn at Dart Container. She interviewed me for an HR position at the plant in Waxahachie, TX, and served as a mentor to me in my time with Dart.

She was always someone that I could turn to when I had a question or had encountered something that I had never seen before. She was always available to help or point me toward the person who could help me best.

Every time we spoke, she would always ask about my wife and my sons, remembering each name–even spelling my son, Jaxson’s, name correctly in email correspondence. She truly cared about people, and it was always evident.

The thing about Sharyn that sticks with me, is that she always seemed to be happy. I don’t know when I ever saw her without a smile on her face. At our annual HR Conferences, where she would serve as the emcee, she would make her way around the room welcoming everyone and catching up. She lit up the room with her love of her job and people. It was fitting that she found a career in human resources. She truly was great at it.

I know that her passing leaves a hole in many lives, but in times like these, it’s best to remember the mark that she left on those same lives. She certainly left one on mine.

God be with Sharyn’s family, her friends, colleagues, and all who knew. She was an amazing woman.
