Sharon Regan

Sharon Regan, of East Lansing, Michigan, died peacefully on June 11, 2024, after a lengthy illness fighting Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born on February 28, 1943, in Valparaiso, Indiana. Her parents were Chet and Rosemay Stokes. She was my Princess of Prescott Drive in East Lansing, Michigan.

She was a very special person early in life. In grade school she won a bike in the “Name the New Pony Contest” for the Detroit Zoo. At Seaholm High School (Birmingham, Michigan), she was voted The PEPPIEST of all the Cheerleaders.

Her future husband, Dave Regan, proposed to her over Ham and Eggs in the Case Hall Cafeteria at 7:00 in the morning. He wanted to ask her when she was still half asleep! Dave said “I’m asking and she said I’m accepting!” Done deal.

After her graduation from Michigan State she taught school for a few years but she was fascinated by math and numbers. She became a Tax Practitioner. She was the Treasurer for the Lansing Junior League. She loved doing volunteer work at the Wharton Center. She was the treasurer and later the president of the Wharton Center’s “INNER CIRCLE.” She was awarded the Directors Award for outstanding Wharton Center Volunteer of the Year for 2011!

She was an avid golfer and member at Walnut Hills C.C. for 39 years. She won several flight championships. Sharon and Dave played courses in Spain, Mexico, Alaska, Canada and The Dominican Republic. In Pinehurst she had Sam Snead’s personal caddy, and he gave her a free lesson on how to get out of a sand trap!

She was instrumental in assisting Dave build Plas-Labs into a Global Business with over 35 international distributors and a distribution center in EDE, Netherlands. She traveled with him to over 40 countries and he made her his Vice President of Entertainment! She had a real “KNACK” for setting up entertainment for our global distributors! Sharon was a very special person and a wonderful friend. Best thing that ever happened to REEGS!

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dave; three sons, R.J., Mike, and Patrick; daughters-in-law, Stacey and Courtney Regan; and ten grandchildren, David, Katie, Stephanie, Natalie, Brooke, Eve, Joey, Finn, Callum, and Keenum.

The Regan family wishes to thank all the fine staff members at The Ridge and Hospice for the tender and gentle care for her in her final days.

There will be a memorial service at the MSU Alumni Chapel on June 26, at 4 P.M.  Refreshments and light snacks following at Eagle Eye starting at 6 until 9 P.M.

Gerri and I met Sharon and Dave at Walnut Hills CC and immediately began a friendship that we will always treasure! Sharon was really the Vice President of Entertainment in everything she did! She loved to tell stories and was Dave’s biggest fan! We have many fond memories of her that will never be forgotten. Our deepest sympathy to Dave and family in your loss!

I met Sharon at the Ridge during many visits to my mother in law there. I immediately fell in love with her smile and little laughs. During happy hour she liked to dance and lift her hands to the beat of the music. She was always up for little walks with me. Reading her obituary, WHAT A LIFE LIVED! I will miss my tiny little friend. So sorry for your loss.

I met Sharon (and Dave) through my father who met this great couple at an exhibition in the business. A lovely couple with a great company where she was the VP of entertainment and during the years we met at shows we all became friends including Mike and Patrick and later RJ and all of the family. So a warm band between our families grew in an organic way and visits in the US and in Europe always ended with a great dinner and a great evening out.

Sharon was always the light in the room and she will be dearly missed although we already lost her a couple of years ago when she started to forget, The memories will last forever and I wish all of the family all the best in coping with this loss.

I met Sharon in the late 70’s and was her hairdresser until she was unable to come to me anymore! One of my favorite clients….. so cute and always looked great driving around town in her red mustang with that blond hair! Miss her dearly and our talks!

I met Sharon while having the honor of working at Plas-Labs many years ago. She was a shining light with her beautiful smile. She was always proud of Dave and the boys! She welcomed us into their home for dinner parties. Dave gifted her the red Mustang convertible while I worked there and she loved riding around town in it. I’m sending prayers to the family. Sharon now has everlasting light with the Lord in Heaven
