Sharon Kay Border
Sharon K. Border passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, at the Origami Rehabilitation Center in Mason, Michigan. She was born on March 10, 1940, in Charlotte, Michigan.
Sharon was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. For many years, she actively supported reading and lunch programs at Lansing’s Mount Hope Elementary School. She also worked for several years at Meijer in the jewelry and electronics department. Sharon was known for her indomitable spirit and wry sense of humor.
Sharon is survived by her children, Staci Border, Shari (Dave) Taylor, Kathi Williams, and John (Makiko) Border, and grandchildren: Dylan Border, Robin Border, Mae Border, Jessica Border, Sharla Piepkow, Scott (Jenny) Piepkow, Shelby Piepkow, Jeremy Lance, and Nicole Lance. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Border.
An informal celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at Origami Rehabilitation Center, 3181 Sandhill Rd., Mason, Michigan, on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Noon.
Donations can be made in Sharon’s memory to the Origami Rehabilitation Center.
