Sandra J. “Sandy” Cook Parker

June 7, 1957 – June 23, 2020

Lansing, MI

John lost the love of his life today in Sandra his wife of 42 years. Married in April 1978, they raised three children.

Sandra was an excellent cook long before working for Emil’s Bar and Restaurant for many years, mothering and mentoring many of the younger workers. Sandra’s love of gardening showed in her giant sunflowers and her delicious tomatoes.

Sandy is the seventh child in a family of 13, belonging to Paul and Mary Ellen Cook of Lansing. Sandra is survived by her loving husband, John, devoted mother Mary Ellen, her 12 siblings, and John and Sandy’s three children, Theresa (Bryan), Jennifer (Dustin), and Paul, along with their four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at 11:00 a. m. at the Church of the Resurrection in Lansing, with visitation one hour prior. Please wear a mask.

The sweetest soul and funniest gal I ever knew.
A gem of a sister, who taught me to garden, bake and showed me how to care. She was a trusted confidant like no other. It only took a glance or word from Sandra, to let you know she always had your back. I truly hope, she felt how much she was loved and adored. SJP, May you Rest in God’s Eternal Peace. Your sis, Diane

I lived next to John and Sandy many years ago. Sandy was a great person. Our kids spent a lot of time playing together and she always helped keep an eye on them. Very kind person. So very sorry for you’re loss. My thoughts and prayer’s are with John and family.

I will miss Sandy dearly. Loved her quick wit, and her down to earth personality. Loved walking around her backyard and admiring all of her gardening skills. Rest in peace! Love ya lots!
