Sally Jo Carl

Born April 4, 1946, passed away peacefully February 26, 2025, at the age of 78.  Sally attended school in Holt, MI, where she met and married Douglas Carl.  They were blessed and enjoyed 62 years of marriage.  Sally retired as a bookkeeper from Feldpausch Foods after 30 years. She participated in Muscular Dystrophy charity events as well as working with the Tunnels to Towers and Ingham County Animal Shelter.  She went on to work at MSU Police Department after retiring.  She was a true State fan inside and out.  She was a great bowler, softball player and participated in many other sports in school.  “Aunt” Sally as she was known to everyone loved to be in the sun whether it was at her pool or at the beach.  She was the second mother to all the children who entered her life.  She never missed a birthday or Christmas for all her family.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Esther Damon, sister Jackie Bennett, and brothers Barry, Bob and Dallas Damon.  She is survived by her husband Douglas Carl and her sister Gloria Stragier.  She is also survived by 291 nieces and nephews including great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at South Church of the Nazarene, 401 W. Holmes Rd, Lansing, MI 48910. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association or Ingham County Animal Shelter. Flowers may be sent to Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, 2121 Cedar St, Holt, MI 48842.

Sally was a wonderful strong woman. I always enjoyed her spirit of fun. She was generous and kind to a fault. There should be no doubt. Sally will be missed

As a Vendor at the shows, my husband, my Granddaughter Chloe and myself loved Sally. She was a kind lady and we will miss her.
