Ruth A. Nealey

Age 71, passed away March 28, 2021 after a short battle with cancer.

Ruth retired from the Lansing School District following 25 years of dedicated service in elementary school, middle school, alternative education, and the pupil transportation departments.

For 20 years Ruth fought a fierce battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). “I have MS, but MS does not have me” she said. Determined that MS was not going to define her life or what she could do Ruth enjoyed traveling the country to attend conventions of interest and serving as a beacon of hope and inspiration for all; especially those with disabilities.

Ruth was born in Lansing Michigan on July 22, 1949 to Zeland and Geraldine Epps who preceded her in death, along with her brother Richard Epps; son Charles Green; daughter Susan Price.

Ruth is survived by her husband and partner of 35 years, Kenneth E Nealey of Lansing; daughter Cynthia Miller of Plymouth; son Robbie Needham of Muskegon; step-daughter Karen Shaw of Bullhead City, AZ; brother David Epps of Lansing; sister Berniece Epps of Owosso; sister Janet (Steve) Brown of Lansing; brother Roger (Cheryl) Epps of Mason; eleven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Due to COVID restrictions there will be a private service at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 1, 2021. A live stream will be available at: https://www.communitybaptistlansing.com/livestream/

Those who wish may make memorial contributions, in loving memory of Ruth to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, or American Cancer Society.

An online guestbook may be signed or condolences sent to Ruth’s family at https://EstesLeadley.com
