Ruth Landis

Ruth, born October 13, 1925, reunited with Wally on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at the age of 95, in time for their 75th wedding anniversary. Ruth was a warm, caring Christian lady. She loved being with family, especially the little ones, who she spoke of often, and with a wonderful sense of humor. This came in handy raising their 4 kids.  She was a member of Mt Hope United Methodist Church for over 70 years, active and sang in the choir until recent years, was in Delta 39ers, Grand Ledge OES #14, and volunteered over 20 years for Meals on Wheels.  She retired from the State of Michigan about 1982.

Ruth is survived by her children, Ron (Donna) Landis, Nancy (Bob) Karkau, Debbie Begick, Terry (Cindy) Landis, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace (2018), parents, all 7 of her siblings, son-in-law Jerry Begick, and many others.

A socially distanced, masked visitation will be held Friday, February 5, 2021, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Please be considerate of others with the 25 person limitation. Due to Covid 19, a private funeral service for immediate family only will be live streamed on the funeral home website, https://www.oneroomstreaming.com/view/authorise.php?k=161230658098688 Saturday at 11:00 am.    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Hope United Methodist Women, 501 E Mt Hope Ave, Lansing, MI 48910, or a charity of your choice, in memory of Ruth.

My heartfelt sympathies to all her family who she loved so much. She loved to tell you all about them and could remember so many things to share about her past. After all that was pretty well covered, she’d say “want to play cards?”!
Will miss her great attitude and her joy no matter her circumstances!
All my love….

My sincere sympathy to Ruth’s family. I have many good memories visiting Ruth and Wally and
Ron, Nancy, Debbie, and Terry. I remember her cooking beef pot roast for dinner the many
times we traveled from Garden City to stay the weekend at their house, and seeing her and
Wally at the Landis family reunions every summer over the years. She will be greatly
missed by me.

So many memories of being with Ruth and Wally (can’t say one without the other) at table
A-5. A few common gripes but always fun and laughter. My heartfelt sympathy to all of you from the “other Ruth”.
