Ruth Lee Ziesman

September 27, 1929 – February 19, 2025

Ruth Norum was born on September 27, 1929, in Laurium, Michigan, to Hjalmer and Andrea Norum. She peacefully passed away in her sleep on February 19, 2025, at the age of 95.

Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ed, with whom she shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. She is survived by her children, James (Carol) Ziesman and Patricia (Ed) Stolicker; her grandchildren, Andrea (Corey) Watters, Kyle (Kelsey) Stolicker, and Katie Ziesman; and her five great-grandchildren.

Ruth cherished her role as a homemaker and took great pride in creating a safe and loving home for her family. She also worked as a hostess at McDonald’s for many years. A talented artist, Ruth’s creative spirit brought joy to those around her. She was a devoted fan of the MSU Spartans and the Detroit Lions, always cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm.

Ruth was a dedicated member of Emanuel Lutheran Church for over 60 years. She found joy in family gatherings, Christmas parties, making and decorating the best Christmas cookies that melted in your mouth.

A memorial service will be held at Noon on Thursday, May 8, 2025, in the Chapel at Deepdale Memorial Gardens, located at 4108 Old Lansing Rd., Lansing, MI 48917. Reverend Joel Voss will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, in Ruth’s memory. The address for Emanuel Lutheran Church is 1001 N. Capitol Ave., Lansing, MI 48906.

Ruth’s love, kindness, and creativity will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love and dedication to family and faith will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
