Russel Grant Scovill

Age 92, of East Lansing, MI, formerly of Saginaw, MI, passed away June 19, 2018.  He was born November 7, 1925, in Lansing, to Waldo and Eunice Scovill. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army following WWII.  Russel graduated from Sexton High School, then from MSU with an engineering degree, and lived in Saginaw for over 20 years.  He worked for the State of Michigan as an Occupational Health Engineer, retiring after 33 years of employment.  He was a former member of Warren Avenue Presbyterian Church, an active member of First Presbyterian Church and Mid-West Tool Collector Society, as well as being active with Friends of Historic Meridian.

Surviving are:  his wife of 67 years, Elaine; sons, Roger (Shirlee) Scovill and Douglas (Pam) Scovill; daughter-in-law, Amy Scovill; son-in-law, Tom Hawkey; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Scovill and his daughter, Jeanette Adams.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church, 510 W. Ottawa St., Lansing.  Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Monday.  His family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday.  Memorial contributions may be made to his church, or to Friends of Historic Meridian in memory of Russel Scovill.
