Ruby Rosette Sorrell

Age 94, of Lansing, MI, passed away August 16, 2018. She was born April 18, 1924, in Lansing, to John and Clara Hyboone.

Ruby was a lifelong resident of north Lansing. She worked 22 years with the Soil Conservation Service. She loved traveling with family, and she also enjoyed gardening and crafts.

She is survived by her children, Jerry (Bonnie) Wise, Sherry (Chuck) Sorrell, and Laura Sorrell; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Ralph, in 2014; a daughter, Suzanne (Duane) Landon; and 2 sisters and 2 brothers

Ruby’s funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 20, 2018, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Interment will take place in West Carmel Cemetery, Charlotte, MI. Her family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday and beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Capital Area Humane Society or the Alzheimer’s Association (national headquarters).
