Ruby J. Samuelson

Age 98, of Holt, MI, went home to be with the Lord on August 16, 2021. She as well as her identical twin sister Ruth were born May 21, 1923, in Johnson County, Iowa.

Ruby’s first calling in life was working as a Rosie the Riveter with her twin sister Ruth, in Cadillac, Michigan, during WWII, began a lifelong patriotism for her country.  She also served her country for 40-plus years on the election board. Ruby was very proud of the fact that during her life she donated over 15 gallons of blood. She was also a longtime member and volunteer at the Holt Baptist Church. She retired from Meijer and loved being a homemaker.

Ruby is survived by her children: son Larc (Merry) Samuelson, and daughter Virginia (Bob) Knox; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and Gideon Jacob, husband Caroll Samuelson, identical twin sister Ruth Hammar, grandson Pete Samuelson, brother Charles Jacob, and sister Dorothy Engleman.

There will be a funeral service held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2021, at the Holt Baptist Church 2020 Dean, Holt, MI 48842, interment will follow in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Holt, MI. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or The American Red Cross. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.

We will miss you Auntie! I know that are you now rejoicing with our family in heaven. God bless all those who mourn your loss. I know heavenly Father loves each one of you. Bless you with the comfort of the Holy Ghost. Endure to the end Brothers and Sisters. I know we will all be united and what happiness and celebration it will be!
