Rolland "Casey" Case

Son of Dewey and Lottie Case, died November 24, 2010, surrounded by his family, at the age of 80.  He was born in Lansing on October 19, 1930, and attended Sexton High School, graduating in June of 1948.

Rollie retired from Lansing Fire Department as Captain after 32 years of service.  He was president of Fire Fighter’s Union #421 for several years, and district vice president of Michigan State Fire Fighters.  After his retirement, he wintered in Punta Gorda, FL, residing in Holt during the summer months.  He formed and led a golf league in Punta Gorda, and spent many happy hours on the golf course.

He deeply loved his family and enjoyed being in the midst of family gatherings – happily playing cards and Dominos.

Rolland was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughter, Susan Pride; son, Douglas Case; and daughter, Rae Ann (Bryon) Beck; grandchildren, Melissa (Lukasz) Wackowski, Chad (Tracy) Pride, Michelle (Jason) Cornelius, Jeremy (Michelle) Beck, and Andrew Beck; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene (Marie) Case; and sister, Joanne (Fred) Bernard.

Cremation has taken place, and private services will be held at a later date.  The family sends their love and special thanks to Great Lakes Hospice nurse, Diane Suhr, and Dr. Ronan, Dr. Zack and Dr. Morlock.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society in memory of Rolland Case.  Arrangements by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.
