Bob and Connie are old friends going back many years. We’re sad to know he is gone and sadder to know how his life so painfully wound down. Once a Dal-Mac rider and rider of thousands of miles of bike riding per year, he was the picture of fitness.

Bob and I played side by side for the Mason Bulldogs class of 63 football team. He was the center with Leo Aleir and Roger Harkness on his left. I was his right guard with Ron Derocha at right tackle. The five of us opened a lot of holes for Jim Phillips to run through. Bob and I also attended some classes together at MSU and when I did my student teaching at Eastern he had already been teaching there for four yrs. Certainly will miss Bob. as always, dan chesney

I rode many bike rides with Bob and we had similar recumbent bicycles. I remember on a couple of occasions as we approached a steep hill, Bob would zoom ahead and reach the top first and then turn around and come back down and ride the rest of the way up with me, with a big grin on his face! He was a very good and extremely strong cyclist!

Bob and I always were friends from grade school on. We had the band and sports in common. He was always friendly. I saw him around MSU once in awhile although I didn’t go there after I went to the seminary. I admired his love of students and teaching so many skills..
..
Since I lived in Flint I saw how important skills were. And once Connie came to Mason, it was apparent he had his eyes on her. 60 years of marriage. How wonderful! God bless Connie and her family.

Hi Ted and Sara, Kelly, Cindy, Tim, and Laurie
Thank you for your kind words.
I’ve been trying to call 517-882-8415 but no one answers or calls me back. We have the same landline phone number517-676-9453.
I have a cell number, too, but it doesn’t work as well since I’m not on WiFi yet.

Bob was a good friend and classmate. After graduation we went our separate ways. I was off to the Navy for 20 years. When I made my way back to Mason we renewed our friendship. It’s difficult to have another classmate pass. Sorry for your loss Connie. Rest in peace Bob.

We met Bob and Connie on our trip to Machu Picchu. We enjoyed our time and playing Euchre on a trip delay. Wishing Connie and and family our heartfelt condolences.
