Robert Joseph Arens

Born April 13, 1943, in Westphalia, Michigan son of the late Linus and Vedasta (Rademacher) Arens passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the age of 80.

Robert graduated from Pewamo-Westphalia High School class of 1962.  He was “Mr. fix it” and enjoyed to tinker with cars.  He was a long-time member of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.  Robert served in the National Guard for 6 years and was the primary caregiver for his father-in-law for 10+ years. He worked at Wohlert Corporation making ring gears for more than 35 years before retiring.

Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Lyndia Arens; their children, Carol Arens and Gloria Arens; brothers, Ray (MK) Arens, Leo Arens, Gerald (Cheryl) Arens, Stan (Judy) Arens; sisters, Helen Skriba, Norma (Ron) Heine, Mary (Bill) Castanier, Dottie (Dale) Thelen, and Bernie Arens with many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Al Arens; sister, MaryAnn Arens; brother, Joseph Arens; sister, Rita Arens, and his brother, Roman Arens.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. John Fain at 11:00 on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, 102 W. Randolph St., Lansing, MI.   Rite of Christian Burial will follow at Delta Center Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Church on Thursday for one hour prior to the Mass.
