Robert F. “Bob” Nichols

Holt, MI

Robert F. Nichols passed away October 2, 2020 surrounded by the love of his family. He was born December 14, 1941, in Holt, Michigan. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Dolores Babcock Nichols. He graduated from Holt High School in 1960 and has three daughters: Bobbikay (Ken) Hein, Hope (Jeremy) Smith Nichols, and Nicolette (Tim) Anderson. Bob shared his daughters with Margaret “Peggy” Nichols and they remained close while loving and guiding their girls.

He loved to hunt, but also enjoyed viewing wildlife whether out west or out his backyard window. He was an accurate shot with a rifle, pistol, and bow. He loved to drive! He drove to TX, TN, and WA to see his daughters; he drove a police car for 15 years as an officer for Lansing Township Police Department and a truck for Albert Trucking for almost 30 years.

He married Dolores in 1996. With Dolores, he shared a passion for all things MSU. (Go Green!) He also gained two new daughters, Deanna (Randy) Pung, and Marcia (Curt) Ulch. Robert also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Trenton, (Kristen), Sydney, Kayla, Ashley (Brett), Quinn, Josiah, Cooper, Jacob (Dana), Jeremy, Dalton, Shelby, and great-grandson, Blake.

He was an organ donor, and a memorial service will be held on Friday, October 09, 2020, at 12:30 at First Presbyterian Church of Holt, 2021 N. Aurelius Rd., Holt, MI – attendees will remain in cars and be able to hear/see outside service, to be followed by a gathering at Tony M’s on 3420 S.
