Born March 10, 1922, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, son of the late Charles and Alma (Magnuson) Godward, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at age 93.
Bob served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was also retired from the Michigan Army National Guard. In addition to serving in the National Guard, he was also employed by the Army National Guard as a Machinist.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Godward; three children, Susan (Larry) Tharnish, David Charles Godward, Margaret Ann Godward; two grandchildren, Peter (Lynette) and Tammy Tharnish; four great-grandchildren; sister, Marjorie Torres; along with a niece and three nephews, Gary Lawrence, Robert Lawrence, Jeffrey Torres, and Diane Haywood and their families.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing. Memorial contributions, in Bob’s memory, may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
