Robert Clifford Anderson, Jr.

Lansing, Michigan

Born May 5, 1934, in Lansing, Michigan, son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Daughman) Anderson passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024, at age 89.

Bob was a graduate of Lansing Sexton High School and served in the US Army.  He started his career as a police officer for the City of East Lansing, but quickly transitioned to the insurance industry where he worked for many years as an adjuster, most recently for Gallagher & Bassett and then the Accident Fund of Michigan.  Bob enjoyed wintering in Miramar Beach, Florida, working on his family farm in Delta Township, was a farm equipment enthusiast (especially for anything John Deere) and loved his cats.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Patricia; sons, Bob (Angie) Anderson, III and Tom (Shelly) Anderson; grandchildren, Tony Anderson, Sarah (Justice) Shankel, Cassie (Mark) Sokol, Tanner Anderson, and Lauren Anderson; great-granddaughter, Olivia Shankel; along with many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Bonnie.

A celebration of his life will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Lansing Brewing Company, 518 E. Shiawassee St., Lansing, MI 48912.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions, in memory of Bob, to the Capital Area Humane Society.

We enjoyed Bob every winter in Florida. We will miss him at our weekly get together watching MSU basketball and going out for dinners.

So very sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. Seems like just yesterday we talked at the AG’s retiree luncheon. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Pat, I’m so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing! He was so Jake and hearty at the last AG lunch I attended. My heart goes out to at this sad time.
