Richard L. Robert

The full moon was shone brightly, Thursday, April 5, 2012, when our Lord whispered in Dick’s ear, “Your work here is done, it’s time to come Home.” Peacefully and quietly he obeyed.

Dick was born in Detroit, MI June 13, 1942. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen B. and Raymond O. Stilson; sister, Dona L.V. (Stilson) Gaedt; and son, Steven Klont.

Dick retired from United Glazed Products where he exhibited a strong work ethic year after year. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the cabin. Dick was proud of the home he shared with Shirley and that was evident in the care he gave to it.

Surviving are his faithful and loving wife of 37 years, Shirley; his brother, Gary B. Robert of Lansing; sisters, Darlene (Jim) Stilson of Lutz Florida and Diana (Lou) Ebare of Holt.  Also surviving are seven children, Annette (Jose) Salame, Peter Robert, Michele Ziny, Paul Robert, Marcia Robert, Greg Klont and Lisa Hale; fourteen grandchildren, Curt and Michelle (Dick’s angel of mercy) Gates, Sara Rademacher, Michael and Jennifer Klont, Jordan, Jarrett and Brandy Hale, Jonathon, Jennifer, Joshua and Jordan Salame and Charlotte and Anton Ziny; as well as eight great grandchildren. Dick was also a special Uncle to his many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 7910 E. St. Joe Hwy., Lansing, MI, with Pastor Roy C. Olsen III officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Our Savior Lutheran Church or the charity of one’s choice.
