Richard Herbert Ormos

Of Summerfield, Florida, formerly of East Lansing, passed away in Florida, January 28, 2012, at the age of 87.  He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, January 10, 1925.  Dick was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.  He received a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing from Wayne State University, and worked for the State of Michigan, Department of Labor, as an Analyst, Statistician  retiring in 1987.  After retiring from the State of Michigan, he worked as a Tax Analyst for the IRS, H & R Block and John Hancock.

He was a member of Congregation Shaarey Zedek and a former President.

Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Margot; and his son, Steven.  Surviving are:  son, Scott Ormos of Atlanta, GA; and daughter, Denise  Ormos of Ocala, FL; sister-in-law, Ruth Leeb; brother-in-law, Ted Leeb of Skokie, IL their three children and four grand-children; as well as cousins and many beloved friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Congregation Shaarey Zedek, 1924 Coolidge Road, East Lansing, with Rabbi Amy Bigman and Cantor Pamela Schiffer officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, in memory of Richard Ormos.  Arrangements by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
