I have a fond memory of Mr. Barry showing me in high school how to sand a piece of wood until it was “slicker’n snot on a doorknob.” I still use that expression. My condolences to the family, especially my good friend from those days Dick II.

To the Barry family, my condolences at this difficult time to the entire family. Your dad had a great sense of humor. I enjoyed our talks at Meijers and the ox roast over the years. God Bless.

What a nice guy! I knew Dick during the 34 years I sold kitchen cabs, etc. Even after he retired, he’d call or stop in every few years. He had a great sense of humor.

Dick’s spent many hours volunteering at Gabriels Credit Union as well as at many Resurrection Church functions. He will be remembered by many for his stories, his laughter, and his readiness to help anyone in need of his talents.

Dick was one of a kind. He was generous and thoughtful, always ready to offer a helping hand. He thought the best of others. He lived his faith. And he absolutely adored his wife and children. Dick served selflessly as the chairman of the board for Gabriels Credit Union for over 20 years. He was a great mentor to me. He was a man with a great joke and a huge heart. I will miss him.

Sending hugs and prayers to all the Barry’s on behalf of ours families (Cena’s & Rosses). Such a lifetime of subtle connections between our family’s starting with Mr. Barry building an upper level of our home growing up many years ago. We will fondly remember your dad’s generosity and his legacy craftsmanship that brings a smile and lifts our hearts knowing he has passed it on to three wonderful generations.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Sending love and prayers to the Barry family. Your dad was a great guy with a great sense of humor. I remember babysitting for all three of you and your parents were very good to me and my family. You all were a great family to have next door. He will be greatly missed.

I mostly knew Dick through Father Ploof’s “Saint Joseph the Worker Guild”, started when it became apparent that many things around the Parish needed fixing. Dick was the perfect person for that assignment! He had a big blue, rusty, rickety, rolling toolbox (loosely referred to as a van) and inside that contraption were tools for everything! The tougher the task, the better he liked it! He was so genial, capable and fun and Pat, his faithful sidekick. They were generous “can do” people who have left a void on Earth (but now, they’re probably fixing up heaven).
