Rebecca “Becky” L. Walker
September 20, 1952 – April 16, 2024
Rebecca “Becky” (Pekrul) Walker, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and best friend, passed away peacefully at home at the young age of 71, on April 16, 2024, in Lansing, MI. After ten years living with Multiple System Atrophy, Becky never lost her beautiful smile and loving glow.
Becky is survived by her husband of 50 years, Barry Walker, daughter, Virginia “Ginny” Walker Rutan, grandson, Nathaniel “Nate” Rutan, two sisters, Deborah (John) Kearney and Julie Pekrul, four nieces, Katie Kearney, Meghan (Adam) Kearney-Free, Georgia Wilson, Samantha Schmitz, and great nephew, Maximillian “Max” Risner. She is predeceased by her parents, Julius and Virginia Pekrul, and many aunts and uncles.
Family and friends were always a priority. She grew up in Dimondale and graduated from Holt High School in 1970. Becky loved to dance and met Barry at the Music Box in Houghton Lake, MI in 1971. This one evening began a 50-year love affair, and they married in 1973. In 1976, that love blossomed when they welcomed their daughter, Ginny. Becky’s proudest accomplishment was being the most loving and supportive mother and grandmother. She always emitted a gorgeous light, genuine joy, unconditional love and support, the brightest smile, a contagious laugh, and the warmest hugs, all which will live on in her beautiful legacy.
A special thank you to the amazing staff at Residential Hospice for their comforting care and support throughout the last several months of her life.
The family invites all to a Celebration of Becky’s Life & Legacy of Love on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 12pm – 3pm at the Veterans Memorial Gardens Pavilion at 2074 N. Aurelius Rd, Holt, MI 48842.
For those wishing, memorial donations may be made in memory of Becky Walker to a charity of choice.
Arrangements are by Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.

June 15, 2024 at 2:22 pmI remember Becky’s beautiful smile, her laugh, and her dramatic personality which could draw you in.
We traveled together with Deb and Penny in the summer of 1968, what a trip we all had. Becky kept us all laughing and she loved everything we did on that trip.
I loved her, and will always remember her. She was one of a kind.
Rest in peace sweet cousin.

July 18, 2024 at 12:07 pmBecky, I hope Heaven is everything you expected it to be. What a beam of light , laughter and love Heaven received on the moment you arrived.
I will always treasure our “mom” adventures as we travels that road together many times raising our daughters.
I will look for the brightest twinkling star when I look to heaven at night. I know that will be you looking down on your “ little girl”. Even Heaven cannot break that bond.
We love and miss you.
