Rebecca Lee Reth

Rebecca Lee Reth “Becky” of Lansing, MI, age 70, passed away into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 12th, 2026. Becky was born in Lansing, MI, on January 16th, 1956, daughter of the late Frederick and Elsie (Ratzloff) Reth. She was also preceded in death by her sister Stacy Reth. She was a graduate of Harry Hill High School in Lansing, MI, Class of 1974. Becky attended Lansing Community College and spent most of her career working for Motorola in Schaumburg, IL, as a Cellular System Engineer.

Above all else, Becky was a servant who loved Jesus and the church with her whole heart. Becky was an amazing example of sharing her faith with others and encouraging people to be active in their faith. Becky loved to have discussions about Bible Prophecy and how science and the constellations prove the existence of God. Throughout her life, Becky was a consistent student of God’s Word and inviting people to have a relationship with Jesus was a priority for her.

Becky loved all animals and all things Disney, Star Wars, and Star Trek. Becky was also an avid photographer. Her photography was another example of how she served others, documenting important events and memories for those she knew and loved.

She will be greatly missed by her many friends but we look forward to seeing her again in heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Riverview Church – REO Town Venue, 1115 S. Washington Ave., Lansing, MI 48910.

Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

To be absent from this world is to be present with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you, for the love you shared with my family (Carmen Jones and her children, Breonna and JC, mother, and the rest of our sisters and brothers). You will be greatly missed. Love Thad

Becky was the reason I share my faith today. Her challenge to me over 50 years ago about not leaving church right after being dismissed because God might have me share something with others or someone with me still rings in my ears. I thank her for her commitment to God, His word and His people.

Oh my! Becky was my sister! Her passing hits home and hits hard. We met in 1978. We laughed together often. We talked about how I felt being the only black person in our church. We shared the gospel with others together. I wrecked her brand-new new Oldsmobile 88 -. she waved it off and never waved it back.

Our friendship nurtured my faith when I was a young believer and she is a significant part of why I have now been a pastor for almost 50 years.

I loved Becky, and she loved me. And I KNOW how much she looked forward to seeing our Lord. I’m grieved she’s gone, but I’m thrilled that I’ll see her again.

I love this. Eddie and I will miss her forever. I remember Becky’s beautiful car that was available for everyone and anyone. She was so generous and so kind!

I recall that most of our groceries back then we’re obtained by borrowing Becky’s car. But don’t I also seem to remember someone inviting a homeless guy home who stole Becky’s car? Or maybe I’m making that up. In any case, everyone knew Becky had a hugely generous heart.

And I remember the chocolate oat cookies she made by the bucketful.

What can I say? Aunt Becky’s love for me and my sister goes unwarranted. The relationship she and my mother shared spilled into my heart, soul, and entire being. Becky is a true representation of Christ. Her sacrifice continues to positively influence my life today. Say hello to “mom” for me!

I’m so sad to hear of the passing of our dear friend Becky. She was very important in my Spiritual formation. We kept in touch over the years and she is one of the few people my daughter remembers from East Lansing.

She had a love for all people and was very giving. She will be greatly missed. Praying for her friends and family. We will meet again!
