Oh ray!! I have so many pictures I wish I could share! You were awesome. I am so honored that I was able to welcome you in and take care of you the last few years.
Ray made the best smart comments. He danced with us, he held our hands, he gave us hugs and even little Cheek kisses. He will greatly be missed.
Love you Ray

Ole Sugar….

You definitely impacted my life, as my best friends dad growing up. The basketball games in the driveway, teaching us all how to play the game. The indoor coat hanger basketball games where you taught us how to score in tight spots, and “bang” for that position.

I never did catch on to your idea of enjoyment with bowling or golf, but always thought it was cool how you would go golfing on weekend afternoons. So different than my house for sure.

Most of all, I appreciate that you always tolerated us running around making a racket, and never made the little fat kid down the street, with wild stories and ideas, feel like he was anything but always welcome at your house.

May every shot land a foot from the pin, and the hook shots be nothing but net! Rest in peace, Ray.

I knew Ray as a head usher and true servant of God at Emanuel. I never heard a word from him that wasn’t kind, with humor, or with careful detail for how and when things should be done coupled with a laidback, it’ll be fine attitude. He loved his wife and our Lord very much and I enjoyed every moment serving with him.

He made others around him happy and I only have fond memories of him and will miss him.
