Randolph A. “Randy” Miles
In Loving Memory of Randolph Arthur “Randy” Miles
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Randy, who left us on May 28, 2025. Born on January 4, 1966, Randy was a cherished member of the Mid-Michigan community & beyond, and he touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit.
Randy was born in Lexington Park, MD, and his naval upbringing moved him to Pensacola, FL and finally Lansing, MI where he spent his formative years surrounded by family and friends. Randy always had a need for speed starting at a young age by racing dirt bikes. It’s also no secret that Randy had a love of restoring classic cars and pushing the pedal to the medal, and that’s exactly how he taught his two children to drive, each at eleven years old!
Randy was a dedicated employee to the State of Michigan from where he retired four years ago. He would often share stories of life on the road, pointing out every single sign that he constructed, as well as experiences with prison inmates that he couldn’t wait to see and encourage every single day. Randy was known for his professionalism (except the one time that he admitted to signing the prison entrance book as “Daffy Duck”), expertise, and commitment to excellence, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Randy was a devoted family member, always placing the needs of his loved ones above his own. He shared a deep and abiding love with his spouse of 30 years, Sheila, and together they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and countless cherished memories, especially through traveling and exploring the world together. Randy was a loving parent to Greg and Jennifer (Joe), and his unwavering support and guidance shaped their lives in immeasurable ways. Randy was a loyal brother to his sister, Montsy, and brother Rick, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his family, Randy had a wide circle of friends who were drawn to his warm and generous nature. He had a talent for making others feel valued and appreciated, and his presence brought joy to any gathering. Randy never met a stranger. His passing leaves a void that will never be filled, but his memory will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at South Lansing Christian Church, 6300 N. Aurelius Rd. with lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and/or South Lansing Christian Church in Randy’s honor. Envelopes will be provided for donations.
Randy was a faithful servant of the Lord, Jesus Christ, and that faith never wavered. He is now in heaven with his mother Isabel, father Floyd, and brother Larry. Rest in peace, Randy. Your legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to shine brightly in our hearts forever. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.

May 31, 2025 at 11:09 amDear Sheila, praying for you to feel comforted and peace that only God provides. Randy was a sweet and affectionate friend that loved to show us pictures of his Daisy, he called our “grandkitty”! I have always been so grateful that you and Randy gave Daisy a good home and have loved her so much! So thankful Randy is in a better place.

June 2, 2025 at 6:03 pmRandy will truly be missed. We loved our times getting together to root on the Michigan State Spartans, eating out at so many different restaurants and just enjoying fun conversations together. We will see you again in Heaven but until then our memories will be ones that give us great joy and laughter although at this time there are so many tears. I love you Sheila! Just know that Brian and I are always a call or text away.

June 2, 2025 at 8:49 pmSheila I will always cherish the moments I spent with Randy. I can still hear his voice busting through the doors of what ever warehouse we were meeting at.” Billy you dirty old dog. How are you” he’d say and throw out a handshake. He always wished me safe travels as I would jump in my semi and head north and he headed south. Definitely one of the greats. Gods blessings to you and your family.

June 2, 2025 at 9:22 pmSo sorry for your loss Sheila, I wish I had known about Randy struggling. I owe a lot to Randy who trained me and helped me obtain my CDL class A license working for the MDOC. We spent a lot of time together over the road while I was learning to drive Semi trucks for the State. We spoke a lot about our families and faith and how to be better christians through Christ. On paydays we would split the cost of a lottery ticket and split the winnings. Unfortunately we never hit the big bucks! lol
My heart goes out to you and your family and prayers for everyone who was touched by Randy’s kindness and wittiness. I know that he’s in heaven and he’s not in anymore suffering. I hope you know how much you meant to him. He referred you as his Lori Morgan who is a gorgeous country singer.

June 3, 2025 at 8:00 amTo say “this is tough” doesn’t say enough.
I am so sorry for your family’s loss. Friends have lost too and it hurts each-of-us that are left behind. I will forever miss my best friend
This feels like trying to start that junker snowmobile Randy and Rick had as kids. 10 feet forward and billows of black smoke.
My heart is broken.

June 14, 2025 at 4:33 pmI did not know Randy super well, but last summer I had the privilege of sitting with Randy and Sheila at a dinner party at a local restaurant. Boy, did we laugh! Randy was so much fun to talk to! He offered to help me with a car problem that I had in addition to the hilarious stories he told. He will surely be missed!!!
