Priscilla Holmes
Priscilla Holmes, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away on October 24, 2024. She died peacefully at home, after a day of gardening.
Priscilla was born in Brutus, Michigan, and moved to Lansing in 1970. She loved to garden everywhere she went, including Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where she visited every year. She worked at a variety of jobs over her life. The constants in her life were Reo Town and her properties. She worked for MSU, creating community police programs. She worked for the CDC, traveling all over the country collecting information about school students. She created and oversaw events like Riverfest and the Paint Blitz. She never knew who was going to come through her door but was endlessly entertained by whoever it might be.
She is survived by her daughter, Fawn West, her son, Shawn West, grandsons Sam (Alek) Starks and Joshua (Yael) Starks, sisters Sue Eby and Norma Keller, brother Daniel Eby, nephews Stan Eby, Jeff Eby, Brad Eby, Scott Eby. and nieces Lori Eby Noffsinger, Dee Eby, Jill Eby, Pam Keller, and Tracy Eby.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Eunice Wood and Hannah Eby, and brothers Paul (Shari) Eby and Al (Ann) Eby.
A memorial service date has not yet been determined.
She loved Lake Michigan and went there whenever she could. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Clean Water Fund (cleanwater.org).
Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

November 6, 2024 at 1:13 pmI am old, but I remember Priscilla from my teenage years working at QD on Washington, and her lovely daughter Fawn. I used to love walking around the block and seeing her in her yard she had the most beautiful yard. God Speed Priscilla with your beautiful blonde short curly hair always smiling and friendly

November 8, 2024 at 8:46 amMy friendship with Priscilla is one of my most precious takeaways from this life. How I will miss our visits together, where I had her all to myself. I could always count on Priscilla’s observational humor, underscored with a subtle side glace with those Bette Davis eyes, to lift me out of myself and see the bigger picture. Priscilla taught me life IS joys and tragedies and that happiness is achieved by gathering people around you to build community with food, laughter, and unconditional Love.
